Marcel Kasumovich is the Deputy Chief Investment Officer for Coinbase Asset Management. He leads a team focused on the building of digital asset investment strategies. Marcel has been engaged in digital assets since 2012 as a Visiting Scholar at the International Monetary Fund and as part of Pure Macro Capital Advisors, which he founded to house various investment and advisory interests. In previous roles, Marcel gained experience across policy, investment banking, and hedge funds, including the Bank of Canada, Goldman Sachs, and Soros Fund Management, Woodbine Capital, and Tse Capital. He has published research ranging from academic journals to op-eds, is a member of the Economic Club of New York, and holds advisory roles in startup financial technology companies. Throughout his career, Marcel has built strong connections to finance professionals, policymakers, and entrepreneurs.
