Stephen Prajna is Deputy Chief Investment Officer at One River Asset Management. He is responsible for running the firm’s investment platform with Ryan McRandal (also Deputy CIO) and Eric Peters (CIO). Stephen also manages the firm's systematic strategies. Prior to joining One River in 2014, Stephen was a Director in the Quantitative Strategies team at Credit Suisse in New York and London, where in his last role he led the US Nonlinear Rates Quantitative Strategies and was a member of the pre-trade approval committee. Stephen has experience in a wide range of products and strategies, involving exchange-traded and over-the-counter instruments. His work has encompassed quantitative modeling as well as systematic strategy development. Stephen received a Ph.D. in Control and Dynamical Systems from the California Institute of Technology and holds both an M.S. with distinction in Mathematical Sciences from the University of Twente, Enschede, The Netherlands, and a B.Eng. cum laude in Electrical Engineering from the Bandung Institute of Technology, Bandung, Indonesia. Stephen's Ph.D. research resulted in more than thirty peer-reviewed publications which have been cited by over five hundred other researchers. One of his papers received the 2021 HSCC Test-of-Time Award, which recognizes works published at past HSCC conferences that have proven to be the most visionary and impactful, leading to new directions of research being initiated, or new applications being brought into the hybrid systems research community.
