Doug Wilson is a Portfolio Manager with a focus on innovative portfolio solutions that intersect energy, credit, distress, and digital finance. Doug harnessed his skills over 20+ years of portfolio management experience in the energy and power industries, nurturing the ability to identify investment opportunities across capital structures. Doug has amassed hands-on experience in the bitcoin mining sector through building a bitcoin mining laboratory in Coinbase Asset Management’s Stamford Office, as well as in-person diligence trips to several Bitcoin Mining Operations. Prior to joining Coinbase Asset Management, Doug focused on energy research and trading at Millennium Management, a $57 billion discretionary hedge fund. Previously, Doug was a Portfolio Manager for the Bass Family of Texas, a $3.5 billion family office. He managed energy, power, and mining investments in both public and private markets. At Bass Brothers Doug was involved in numerous distressed and restructuring situations across coal, upstream oil & gas, oilfield service, and independent power producers. At Tang Energy Group, Doug focused on power development projects in China. He began his career trading mortgage-backed securities at Capstead Mortgage Corporation (NYSE: CMO). Doug has an MBA and BBA from Southern Methodist University with concentrations in Finance. Doug holds a CFA charter.
